MediaHaven releases on a time based cycle, rather than a feature driven one.
Releases are named using the year and the quarter as their name, e.g 15.3 = release published in the 3rd quarter 2015.
There are a variety of strategies for deciding when to release a new version of a piece of software, and different projects may employ different techniques.
Zeticon plans in advance to release on a certain date, and the preceding development effort is aimed at producing a high-quality release on this prearranged date.
MediaHaven releases are challenging because they represent an aggregation of the feedback and requirements of multiple and different types of customers. We feel that a time-based release process enables us to provide our customers with the best balance of the latest software, tight integration, and excellent overall quality.
Public releases are published every 6 months following a planned schedule. Zeticon alternates public releases with internal releases to ensure a continuous development process with regular test dates, dates for freezes and a date for a final release. We have found that this encourages both high quality and rapid development.
